3.3 Tailor-made for us
It took our ecosystem 4.6 billion years to become what it is today: the perfect living environment for us. A habitat for humans, so to speak. It is a highly complex and adaptive system with countless interdependencies. The natural cycles run like clockwork, perfectly balanced. Everything that lives, grows, and flourishes today is perfectly attuned to the conditions in this closed system.
The final seconds
Here you see the genesis of the earth if it were created in 24 hours. Only 4 seconds before midnight we enter the scene. Only in the very last nanosecond before midnight do we unbalance this unique system. How? We will go into that in Chapter 4.
How everything is related to everything else
Here’s a video to inspire you about the unique interdependencies in our ecosystem. Change one thing, and you change everything.
